I'm in Love With My All-Purpose Cleaner!

Today as I was preparing for a full day of cleaning, I realized I had run out of my homemade, all-purpose cleaning spray. I began to look around for something I could use in it's place when there it was! I set eyes upon my dōTERRA OnGuard Cleaner Concentrate (buy it here)! Sure enough, as I looked at the label there was a recipe for all purpose cleaner! I mixed 1.5 Tbsp of the cleaner concentrate with water in my 16 oz glass spray bottle (I like this bottle with this top) and voila! I had the most amazing all-purpose cleaning spray! It doesn't get much easier than that! The best part of this love story is that my new found, go-to spray only costs me $0.91 for 16 oz!
Ok maybe this is a bit dramatic haha but this stuff works beautifully and not only is it so super easy to throw together, it's even easier to use! You should try it for sure! My other favorite part, it's non toxic and free of harsh chemicals! I love love love it and will not be going without it from now on!

Happy cleaning everyone!

Coach's Corner 11.3

This Week's Recipe: Chicken Fajitas
Serves: 4-6     Prep Time: 35min
Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breast, cut into strips
  • 6 bell peppers, Colors of your choice, chopped into strips
  • 2 small-medium yellow onions, chopped into strips
  • Optional: You can add additional veggies to this recipe if you want
  • 1/4 cup Olive Oil or cooking oil of your choice
  • 2 Tbsp Corn Starch
  • 4 tsp Chili Powder
  • 2 tsp Real Salt or Sea Salt
  • 2 tsp Paprika
  • 2 tsp Sugar (try to use sugar in the raw or any less refined sugar)
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cayenne Pepper (can be adjusted to decrease or increase spiciness)
  • 1 tsp Ground Cumin
Directions:
  1. Combine all dry ingredients and set aside.
  2. Slice raw chicken beasts into strips and place in a large pan with the oil. Turn heat to medium high.
  3. Stir in Onion slices and dry seasoning until everything is evenly coated with oil and seasoning.
  4. Cook Chicken and Onions over medium high heat for 5-8 min or until the outside of the chicken is completely white. While this is cooking, slice up the bell peppers.
  5. Stir in the pepper slices and cook on medium high for an additional 10-15 minutes or until the chicken is cooked thoroughly.
  6. Serve hot. There are lots of options for serving these fajitas. They are very good on their own or you can serve them in 100% Whole Wheat tortillas or even over a bed of lettuce! Add your favorite salsa and guacamole to spice things up a bit! Nutrition tip: If you like sour cream with your fajitas, try substituting fat free, plain Greek yogurt for a nice boost in protein and probiotics!
Food for Thought
This passage is from the book "Journey to the Heart" by Melody Beattie
Page 214-215:

What's Your Handicap?

"What's your handicap?" the golfer asked his partner. "My childhood," said his companion.
Some handicaps are physical, certain limitations placed on our bodies. Other handicaps are emotional, burdens of the heartache from sad or abusive childhoods. Others may be dealing with current issues-perhaps facing a terminal illness or grieving an irreparable loss.
After losing my son, I found myself at a point where I simply could no longer stand the agony of waiting for my pain to disappear. I knew that all my life I would miss him, and I became absolutely despondent. There is no way out of this, I thought. I'm spending my life waiting for this pain to disappear so I can begin living my life again. But the pain never will disappear. And I'll never begin living my life again. That's when a gentle idea began to change my life.
I began to understand that I was living and working with a handicap. The loss would always be there. The pain and heartache would always be present. I could accept that, treat it as a handicap, and within that framework go ahead and live my life once more. The moment I made that decision, my attitude and perspective changed. I was able to go on, able to move forward.
Many of us are living with handicaps. Some will change over time, but others won't. If that's the case, stop waiting for your handicap to disappear. Instead, decide to live with it. Work around it. Treat yourself with care, with gentleness. Allow yourself to feel and experience all the limitations and emotions of your present situation. Accept them. Let them be part of you, part of your experience.

          Despite living with a handicap,
go ahead and treat yourself to life.

Wow the food for thought was a heavy one this week! When I was teaching multiple yoga classes a week and connecting with so many people on so many different levels, I would use this book to read a passage at the end of every class while everyone was lying in savasana. All I would do was take a deep breath, clear my thought and turn to a random passage to read. Sometimes the passages didn't even seem relevant but it never ceased to amaze me how every passage spoke to someone in the class. Not one class passed by without someone coming to me and thanking me for the passage that day because it was something they had been needing to hear. So my hope this week is that this passage will speak to one of you in a profound way and you can begin to free yourself from a handicap that you might be living with.
With a new month starting and the seasons changing, lets make this a great week full of new beginnings and revelations!

With the utmost gratitude, love and support,

Chelsie
